Luxaflex Base Plus

The LuxaflexBase Plus Fully Cassetted Awning is our most popular model it will go to 5500mm wide up 3100mm projection of the wall which gives you a floor coverage of 17 square mtrs. To explain the difference between fully cassetted and semi cassetted, awnings have arms that support the fabric and give strength to the awning when it is out. The base Plus system is fully cassetted, this means that the fabric and the arms all go back into a cassette box when the awning is retracted to give total weather protection all year round. The semi cassetted when retracted will only roll the fabric into the cassette box the arms will sit below and be seen.

Luxaflex Milano

The Luxaflex Milano Semi Cassetted Awning will go to 5000mm wide up 2600mm projection of the wall which gives you a floor coverage of 13 square mtrs. To explain the difference between fully cassetted and semi cassetted, awnings have arms that support the fabric and give strength to the awning when it is out. The Milano system is semi cassetted, the semi cassetted when retracted will only roll the fabric into the cassette box the arms will sit below and be seen.

Luxaflex Silver

The Luxaflex silver Awning is an entry level system well priced. It does have limitations on size and is not cassetted in any way so it is open to the elements. A hood can be fixed above the awning for to help with weather protection if required. The sizes achievable using the Silver awning are 5000mm wide x 2350mm projection giving you coverage of around 11 square mtrs.

Luxaflex Dutch

The LUXAFLEX DUTCH Awning is not made for sitting under it is more for light protection inside the building and at the same time give a pleasing cosmetic appearance to the outside of the building. It is generally cord operated and can span wide runs. There are different shapes available.

Motorisation

Motorisation of Awnings is the most popular control choice for our customers. We do however supply a manual control system but do not advise its use on larger Awnings. The Motors and controls for our Awnings are all powered by Somfy who are well known worldwide for their home automotive systems. You can choose from a switch or remote control RTS system. RTS meaning Radio Technology Somfy which in turn means if you are not in line of site to the Awning you can still press the remote and the Awning will operate. Depending on how many Awnings you require we have a remote control with 5 channels, this means if you had 2 or 3 Awnings they could be set up to be individually controlled on individual channels and still have a channel free to operate them altogether. These 5 channel controls are also used to control extras such as lights and fires.

Climate Controls Wind Sensor

The new generation of climate controls does away with mains power and the anemometer which is a windmill type device that fixed to the wall. It now consists of a small box of tricks that locates behind the front rail of the Awning and is not seen. It works on vibration, when the Awning is out and the wind blows the front rail of the Awning will move, when it reaches its movement limit on the setting made on the device it send a signal to the motor to bring the Awning in. This limit can be tweaked to be less or more sensitive however we tend to set it for Uk wind levels. This is a safety device in case you were out and the Awning was out in dangerous winds and cannot be turned of if activated.

Climate Controls Sun Sensor

The Sun Sensor goes with the wind sensor to give you total climate control. This is a device that can be fitted anywhere in the vicinity of the Awning and when it reaches a certain light level will instruct it to come in or go out depending on sun levels. This small circular device is solar powered and is set to measure the light (LUX) measurement through its sensor window. Its clever technology means it has a delay before it will operate, so in the case of sun going in and out it will wait until the sun stays out before it will operate. Using the sun sensor and wind sensor together means you do not need to touch the controls at all as the sensors look after it all. For security if you were away on holiday the Awning would operate when its sunny making it seem someone is at home. Unlike the wind sensor the sun sensor can be turned off at any time via the remote control.

Lights and Fires

Lights are also an option and are fitted to the underside of the Awning and can be all controlled via the main remote control. These light are downlighters that can be slightly adjusted on angle. The widths of the awning determines how many light can be fitted. Infra Red remote controlled fires can also be supplied.

Specialist Brackets

When we install Awnings and have a good solid wall to fix to we can use our standard bracket which is not really seen. On bungalows and various other building we come up against, we have to deal with the eaves of a roof and wall that ends where we need to fix our brackets. For this reason we use specialist custom made brackets which help to spread the load down to the stronger part of the brickwork or wall. When this situation happens there is no alternative these spreader plates as they are known have to be used for safety purposes. Rawbolts are used as standard by many awning suppliers. We chemical fix all our awnings because once the resin used sets it is harder than the brick itself. Rawbolts expand the brick when tightened and can show surface cracking in the brickwork, chemical does not expand at all and will also fill any gaps inside the frog of the brick thus making it a much firmer and safer.

Specialist Brackets

We have a range of specialist brackets which overcome most fixing problems such as the gutter bracket. These fix to the wall and then bend at right angles around any overhang there may be and then bend at a right angle again to clear any guttering that may be present. These are often used when there is no room at all for an awning to be fixed above the window or when doors open outwards and will foul the awning

Signpost Brackets

The signpost bracket is used for joining two awnings close together if there is limited wall space or side fixing and awning for installation purposes. On any consultation we make we will discuss all the options and advise you what is required for safe installation.
